I was at devcon yesterday. It seemed dead to me compared to other conferences. I was there strictly for the pre-con.

Now for a look at the numbers.

375 for the major foxpro conference is pathetic. It has been a steady decline for the last 5 years and I dont see how it can be much better. THis is the first devcon after the VFP8 release and in my estimation it should be better attended.

People will make excuses why this conference was so poorly attended. I would attribute it to 2 major ones and a couple of minor ones:

1. The major decline in #'s of foxpro users/developers.
2. Corporate america can't justify spending the $$$ to invest in a product that they have deemed is on life support.


and the minor ones

2 fox conferences in the last 2 months. Kansas City and Montreal. Why pay a premium for the same content you can get at 1/3 of the price.
