Hi Linda:

What version of VFP are you using? I am using VFP 6. I am not sure to what extent but I heard VFP7 is more strongly-typed than VFP6.

Also, if in your concatenation you have lcSQLCmd1 + lcSQLCmd2 + lcSQLCmd3, declared all 3 variables but did not initialize one of them with an empty string, then you get an error (in concatenation).
