I do think you can say that since the advent of competive conferences, the competition is driving attendance down at Advisor DevCons. My observations are anecdotal, but the people I saw at Advisor DevCons are now the ones I have seen at WhilFest and Essential Fox.

As for kicking in the international conferences, I think you would need demographic data from all the Advisor DevCons to see if their international registrants have declined in some proportion to the attendance at their own conferences. I would think this is probably not the case, since relatively few would be able to afford coming to the US as opposed to going to a very affordable conference in their own country.

I think the best we could do is compare the attendance figures from Advisor, EFox, WhilFest, and the major Canadien conferences over the years to get a picture of trends. There will be some negative impact from the major international conferences, but I think that percentage may be small, but increasing. I think a major conference cropped in South America earlier this year as well that was very well attended.

>Lots of ways to look at this and I think your table is of great value! However, I interpret the table a bit differently. The Advisor data shows a steep decline in attendance. Adding foreign VFP conference attendance inflates the numbers when combined with domestic totals but smoothes the actual totals. Had there been foreign totals dating back to 1992 then there would be more meaning from the historical data.
