I shouldn't be in this discussion since I have not yet dived into Web Services, but <g> I can use PHP Web Connect Perl ASP etc... to send back XML from an HTTP request or send back whatever data format I choose.

I can see the userfullness of the Web Service being a genericlly published 'COM' object though.

Going to dive into these critters soon, after I finish a couple projects.
