If you do a memory intensive (not disk intensive) process where you can see the process moving by on the screen, say for example a progress meter, there seems to be a short delay every half second. I figure this is an internal foxpro timer firing, as I can duplicate this behavior outside the package.

Could someone more familiar with the inner workings of fox please enlighten me as to what this timer is doing, and if I can turn it off ? I'm aiming for the fastest (and *smoothest*) possible processing during a certain procedure and this timer is hindering that.

Perhaps I'm completely off base, but I don't think so.
