>Dear Chris

>Fact: Blix never found WMD. He found some missiles that could fire more than the distance stipulated by the UN- 93 miles- if no guidance system was installed. Iraq agreed to destroy these. No prohibited warheads or substances were found and an unguided missile that can fly 93 miles is not much of a threat to people in Kentucky.

I feel like a broken record, but I'll keep repeating it. It was never the job of the U.N. inspectors to find WMDs. They were there to verify Iraq's disarmament. The missiles were never a threat to Kentucky, but they certainly were to Iraq's neighbors. Just ask the Kuwait and Saudi governments, who let us station our troops there.

>As usual, you say that those who disagree with you must believe Saddam, or be like Chamberlain. This is not a Marvel cartoon with a simple plot and a "them and us" clash of slogans.
>
>Fact: I believe Saddam about as much as Blix did. Which is not at all, as you will see if you read your own quotes. For tens or even hundreds of millions of people like Hans and JR, the issue of WMD has to be based on evidence, not on what you or SH might say.

The evidence that Iraq had WMDs is clear. What Saddam claimed was that he destroyed them. With no witnesses, no documentation to back that up, he claims they were destroyed. So, if you don't believe Saddam, what do you think happened to all that anthrax and VX?

>Had you been in Poland in 1939 I suppose you would have attacked first. Both statements are meaningless.

No, had I been Chamberlain, I wouldn't have taken the word of a man who had invaded his neighbors, then promised not to do it again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

>The effectiveness of the UN is controlled by those within it. If it isn't effective enough for you, speak to your legislators who control one of the crucial Security Council seats and always have.
