In general, for faster Automation, you have to try to use less commands for Excel. It is faster to run a complicated loop in Visual FoxPro, and then transfer to Excel with a single command.
Another way to transfer larger amounts of data to Excel is with COPY FILE ... TYPE XLS. Of course, you can still use Automation later, to format the result (column widths, font-size, etc.).
I tried the Copy and Paste method myself, but I had problems with character data. Some shoes had codes like "0052113"; the zeroes at the beginning dissapeared when I transfered them with Copy and Paste.
