Ok but with some of the surprises about the upgrading licenses uncovered recently I just wanted to know where we stand on MSDE.
>You do not need a license for SQL Server to run MSDE. If your MSDE database grows beyond 2GB or you need to be able to process more than 5 (or whateever the number is) concurrent batches (i.e. queries, updates, etc.)- then you'll have to upgrade to SQL Server. MSDE "is" SQL Server - with usage restrictions (eg. the 2GB size limit).
