Jim,

This seems to be really eating you up for some reason. What's really bothering you about MSDE/SQL Server?

If your only awareness of how to create databases in MSDE/SQL Server is through a visual interface with something like SQL Enterprise Manager (SEM), then I can see how you would think MSDE is a weak option. But you can do just about everything you could possibly need to do with SQL command language.

Create DBs, tables, stored procs, user logins, etc., all through code. Almost exactly as you can do in VFP.

It seems to me that part of the problem is that you consider the database as worthless unless you have a copy of SEM. But you've posted other frustrations about MSDE/SQL Server and I think something has got your goat.

What is it?

Guy
