Hi Elgin,

Considering your problem :
There are only three ways you can program
1. Remote Views
2. SPT
3. ADODB

As you are in learning curve you can start with Remote Views as they are easy to work around. Even VFP provides you a wizard to create these simple forms. Reading those forms can give you better understanding about coding.

Something else.
I advise you to forget MS Access as backend when you are using VFP as Frontend.
VFP Fronted+VFP Backend is very fast in what so ever manner you work compared to VFP+MS Access.

VFP8 has a feature to Auto Inc too.

>I am about to start a small project that, at this time, will consist of just one form to access an MS Access Database. Right now it will be to simply enter some basic customer information and acquire the "next quote number in sequence" for that customer. The database and possibly my small app will be placed on a Windows 2000 Server so multiple users (about 5 to 6) can access the database and acquire their number.
