Check Hentzewerke site for Tamar Granor and Della Martin's Office Automation book. I didn't see the book but all references say it's perfect and knowing the authors I bet it is :)

There is no one tidy place that shows the syntax AFAIK. You might look into Vbawrdx.chm located in office directory (if you chose VBA help during installation). Name might not be exactly the same depending on the version (vba_wrdx and .hlp as extension, x stands for version).
Recording a macro in word and translating it a bit is a great helper.
