In addition to Cathy's suggestion, it is helpful to *increase* the size of the detail band by the size of the group footer (if one exists). In this new space, stack some fields containing an empty string (""), and under "Print When" check the remove line when blank option.

By doing this, a detail line will only print if there is enough space on that page to print the group footer that goes with it.

>Is there a way to keep groups together (avoid widows and orphans) without starting each group on a new page? We are using Visual Fox Pro 6.0 and have a copy of Visual Fox Pro 7.0 available if we need to upgrade.
