I guess I don't understand the question. VFP is already condidered by a lot of people as a niche market. I was at dinner with a friend last night and we said something about the next version of VFP and he said: Are they still making that ?
I know that JVP is making an argument that VFP is not a niche market on ProFox. I'm not entirely sure I agree with his analysis. I guess it depends on what you define as a niche. VFP people are rare and have specialized skills that are still in demand by lots of company. Is that the definition of niche ? I'm not sure.
Quite often I get inquiries demanding VFP expertise. I guess I serve the VFP niche. However, couldn't the same thing be said for people needing people with specifc SQL Server, Oracle, Cold Fusion, SAP,etc. skills.
I would be interested to see how many people here think that VFP is a niche market....
