Yes; I had to identify which method was responsible for saving the record. The beauty of using a framework is that you do the change in a singloe place.
Also check for write-cache. I think in Windows 95 and 98 there is no such option. For Windows 2000 or later - well, I don't know how to turn it off, but a search in the message area should help you.
