Just curious whether you managed to find a workaround.
In fact, I do have quite a similar problem. Originally project was under VFP7 and I still do some updates to that in VFP7 on my laptop. It hangs quite randomly when I buid .exe ( I usually build .exe, but suspect the same problem exists for .app ) and after reading this thread just occured to me it might be due to my usage of VFP7 and VFP8 interchangeably for the same set of files.
