Steve - ya - this doesn't affect 'salaried' employees as much as it does 'hourly wage' employees. There are many programmers who work through contract job shops, outsourcing firms, and the like, on an hourly wage.
These folks will be affected if this 'rule of Bush's administration' goes through ..

However - most 'white collar workers' are not 'hourly wage workers' - most are salaried employees who already have that 'exempt' status..
