There's an excellent chance of causing INDEX corruption if that happens and updates/writes have been done and I SUSPECT that this is so even with FLUSH used.
I say this because I would NOT bet that a FLUSH on a table also results in a FLUSH on the CDX. It has always been in the back of my mind that this is *probably* the reason why we see more index "corruption" than we do (table) data "corruption".
