Yes, one can be and in fact all of us are...

I think people are reading way too much into this simple announcement. I don't think it changes anything in the way any of us have been operating for the last year, year and a half.

I can only speak for myself as a developer that I see changes in the way our sector of the market works and as a software developer that provides training and sells software to developers I have to update my skill set to be up to date and at this time in my estimation that means to be familiar with .Net technologies.

I can only tell you that I'm still spending plenty of time with VFP although I also spend a fair amount of time working in .Net. This doesn't mean I'm deserting VFP in any way, nor do I think that everybody has to migrate to .Net. But I perceive .Net to be too important to ignore.
