I think expanding one's skill set and keeping a view on the market is very important, and a wise move on your part since, as you said, you provide training and software to other developers.

As to "reading way too much into this announcement" goes, you'll have to take that up with Jim Duffy. He's the one who said, "...VFP just lost 4 very prominent MVPs. Any thoughts on that??? Does that help anyone see the writing on the wall?" and "...I still think it's a pretty significant development when two of the "veteran" VFP MVPs (Markus and Rick) jump ship and the two newly voted in last year also bolt."
