FUD spreading <s> is one way to ensure that some VFP developers will worry enough to re-train. We both know that VFP is not going to go away anytime soon, but a bit of FUD goes a long way to worry some developers enough to re-train. Another good reason for you to persist with the VFP stuff is its potential "loss leading" effect into your SQL server and .Net offerings. I am not saying that there is anything wrong "cross selling" - every business does it. Its just that you state that you are "persisting" with your various VFP offerings because (and I loosely quote) "what kind of message would that send to the VFP community" if you withdrew from the VFP training market. Lets get it right Jim, you're really *not* doing it out of the goodness of your heart - its a business decision, plain and simple for the aforementioned reasons.

So, I think the issue is really all about honest presentation. Your posts appear to suggest that your average VFP developer has his/her head in the sand and only the community's "leading lights" are doing the right thing by considering other/new technologies. I think you will find that most VFP developers are only too aware of the state of the VFP market and are well aware of what they need to do and will do it in their own time, some now, some sooner, some later.
