this has been a bane in many peoples lives, a lot of installers now specify that you have to turn off norton before installing their software as the install scripts will not work.

Here is a problem I had a while ago which some developers may have come across.

On my development server I had no set security restrictions for FSO but every script that used it would time out.

After pulling out my hair thinking I had done something wrong I found out that because I was using Norton AntiVirus on my Development Server it would not let me use FSO because of a component called "Script Blocking".

I disabled this component and everything worked as expected.

Just thought I would share incase anybody every had a similar problem.
