Hey Paul - I may have found the culprit. I think the culprit is the MM grids and their highlight bar. On some whim, I tried swapping them out for VFP8 grids, and the problem has been significantly reduced or eliminated. Either way, the interface performance is so noticably faster that I'll probably try to avoid the MM grids until (and IF) Kevin ever gets around to updating them for VFP 8.

I did test your idea before swapping out the grid, and Norton Antivirus was not causing the problem. A good idea though - thanks.
