Gerry, I'm sure you are a fine fellow ... but I simply could not tolerate your belittlement of VFP developers.

I'm sure the things I've posted as a reflex action (publically announcing my true feelings) may have caused some grief on your part ... if so let me publically apologize for those as well.

I simply believe that VFP is an excellent model for expansion into other OO languages ... to me ... as someone who has maintained an OO framework ... it is not a large stretch of the imagination to think that Kevin can take the architectural lessons learned from the last four years of framework developemnt and apply them to a new, fully OO language. It just makes sense.

I also have to thank you ... you inadvertantly gave new direction to my site when you stated that people who use frameworks are limited by their incomplete knowledge of the underlying technology (upon which those frameworks run). I've made it my mantra to ensure that this shortfall does not befall those who my desire to embrace .NET ... unsolicited mantra but a self adopted one nevertheless). For, you see, I don't look at this problem like you do. I see frameworks as a shield to the complexity that I don't want to deal with when developing enterprise level applications. On the otherhand, there is no way that I can disregard your concern that some of the people that use frameworks exclusively, with total disregard to the underlying technology, can be difficient in solving problems that exist outside of the framework. Therefore, www.savvysolutions.com is now dedicated to teaching everyone, that wants to visit, everything that I've personally learned and had to endure during my quest for MCSD.NET and MCDBA. Does this mean that I'm proporting myself to be an expert at these technologies? NO IT DOES NOT. What it does mean is that have the desire to smooth the path of those that come after me ... and even though it feels like everyone is already there ... I'm smart enough to know that I can help those who will follow.

That is what this homey little VFP community is all about.

You and I have had our differences ... but I also have every hope that if and when you decide to go the .NET route the trials and tribulations that I've had to go through growing into this new technolgy can some how ... in some way ... lessen the stress on you.

If I've learned anything from cavorting with the likes of Alan Griver and Markus Egger (damn I always spell his name wrong) is that, frequently, good things happen to those who freely give to others.

Respectfully,
