Anyone successfully running an english-version of MSDOS-based app on non-english Windows 95 operating system?

I tried to run a Foxpro 2.6 DOS app on Japanese Windows 95 but have run in to a weird problem. The app runs O.K. but display doesn't get refreshed when the app runs. When I start the program, it looks like nothing happened on the screen but when I move the mouse/cursor around the DOS-window screen, the "trace" of the mouse movement displays the app screen running. IOW, I could see the app only when I "manually" refresh the screen or screen area somehow, like moving the mouse over the screen area or dynamically changing the window font size. Pretty weird.

I've tried everything but nothing seems to work. Could it be that my video card isn't compatible? I'm using Diamond Stealth 64 2001 and when I try to use the driver that came with the card within Japanese Windows 95, it doesn't work. It shows some "S4" card as being compatible although some others do work. What can I do?
