I'm not running a private data session, although I did try adding the two set notify commands in the "load" of the form. It didn't help. The table is read only by design. The table is not being opened more than once. I get the error message on the first opening. The program runs excellent except when I open this form the warning message "table is read-only you will not be able to edit it" appears for a couple of seconds and then disappears. The message does not contain the typical "error at xxxxx". Very strange. Thanks for your help so far!
