I use parameterized views but still run into the dilemma mentioned. The reason is that the grid assumes the same structure of a view's cursor. Mine change. My grid has an array to hold column definitions and a build method to construct the grid but it still loses the original definition which has a custom textbox used for searching. This textbox is "suddenly" missing and other methods trying to reference it cannot find it. The underlying definition of the grid with the custom stuff should not go away regardless of how I change the .RecordSource or .ControlSource properties.
