>We have a strange behavior with IIS 3 on a client site. To access the client Web site, each user is doing a basic authentication. Normally, Visual FoxPro, when reading the header, can get the username in it. With the current setup, we can't. That information is not part of the HTTP header. Is it because this is only supported in IIS4?

Michel,
You can only get the user name if you are running basic authentication. If challenge/response is turned on (even if basic is also), IIS will not report the user name. Only solution I know of here is getting client to turn off challenge/response.
Maybe someone else knows of an alternative.
