It will not cause your current certification to be invalid. The way MS does things is you say, for example, "I'm certified in VFP 6". If a new exam comes along, then you can get certified in VFP version X. This is exactly what happened when Win2K shipped. The MCSEs worried about their certification. MS said "No, you have an MCSE in NT4. You can now go on and get an MCSE in Win2K."
