Is this on FAT or NTFS?

I wouldn't try to use a prune utility in a case like this. It may be a file system coruption anf you never know where the disk pointers point to.

Try Norton Utilities. I know there is a WinNT version now. I never saw it, but for DOS and Win, NU was the best (IMHO).
