Well, you could rip off Microsoft's Office icons, since some of them are quite good. You could use a graphic editor like Paint Shop Pro to capture the screen, and then convert them to bitmaps and/or edit them. A friend of mine did that, but I don't know if it's legal or not, although I've seen quite a few packages that have them... ;)
