Hi Jim:

We'll I can tell you what my motive was since I am one of those folks of which you speak. Unfortunately ... I cannot speak for others.

I wanted to set up a website that documented everything I had to go through tranforming from someone that is competent developing VFP/SQL Server applications ... to becoming competent developing .NET applications. (I think that many of the other, more guru specific folks have the same sentiment ... it's just that some are more tactful at it than others). I also wanted to provide a place for other people to publish their discoveries as well. Also, once completed, I'd have a place that I can point future employers and clients to in order to illustrate my level of understanding of the product (which ... as of right now, is quite limited). That was my motive ... (I think you had another subset of folks in mind however, when you asked the question).

I believe your problem lies in the fact that some of these people feel the need to couple the fact of their progression from one technology to another to the "eventual demise of VFP".

Accurate or not? I have a feeling you don't have a problem with folks learning a new technology ... you'd just prefer them to stop with the "Death of FoxPro mantra" that seems to go along with it ... (just a guess).
