You are right, if we didn't use VFP free tables, and local views, and RECALL we wouldn't have the problem. But we are using them, at least for now...
Some of the points do not apply, like using PK - first, as you know, can't have PKs in free tables, second, it would prevent the effect but it wouldn't cure the cause. In general, we have similar... views, with most of what you say.
My questions, however, were:
1. Does RECALL work correctly with local views?
2. Where does VFP documentation specify how RECALL works with local views?
