One thing that I found interesting about this Snopes article is the difference between the written law (prostitution is forbidden in some counties), and what is actually enforced. Seems to be the same problem all over the World.

>By the way, Nevada is called “The Mississippi of the West”! What does that mean? Why next to Mississippi I have never “enjoyed” such a racist state. They have an interesting history of how to treat people. You have to live there to enjoy all it has to offer.

>In California you will see bumper stickers from proud parents, “My child was honor student of the month at (name of school goes here). In Nevada, I saw a pick up truck with gun rack (three rifles) behind the drivers seat with a bumper sticker, “My son kicks the shi* out of honor students”! Ah yes, a parents pride!

Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
