It was worse than I thought and informed with the initial news :( As they're released we heard the story from victims. Will try to translate at my best :
A few US soldiers came to office and they were welcomed to have a drink, tea and coffee. While they were sitting together and having their drinks suddenly US soldiers directed their weapons to our officers and arrested them. What makes us feel bad, they were treated like potential terrorists, bags were put on their head, their hands were fastened on behind with plastic stripes. Following it, some other US soldiers who were outside, crack open the doors and break into to the office. A female cooker who was working there reacted and was beaten with gun's bottom side.
First they were taken to Kerkuk and there they were left to hunger and thirst. Soon they were taken to Baghdad by choppers. Assumingly they were afraid of a Turkish operation to free them (Kerkuk is relatively in an easy range) - and believe me if it happened special forces would have taken them back at all costs.
When they get back, as they could see, office was damaged, safe was broken and top secret documents, cryptos, money was gone. Also about 30 guns, military satellite system, wireless equipment, computers, 3 vehicles were gone. Site scenery showed bullets in building and heavy damage. Documents were later given back by US authorities (military HQ announced they had sensitive, top secret information and today it's announced Turkish army is changing all of its crypto cyphers).
Hope it's wrong, but according to newspaper, order was given by Donald Rumsfeld. But no clear explanation on news yet how it happened.
Powel and Cheney was informed of the situation and asked to act but it didn't change the result. Their biggest excuse it was Jul 4th and a holiday in US!!!
No one from US government is making an explanation about it and they are behaving as if it has never happened (we don't count spokesman Boucher as a valid personality to make an explanation on it - honestly I heard his name for the first time).
Funny we fought with US since Korea in many occasions side to side and would never think this could happen.
Hope US would act the right way and all who is responsible for it would be judged.
(There are some other reports making it worse but for now I tend not to believe and accept them as hear-say, exagarated newspaper news).

>Officer's were tortured? by whom? U.S. troops or the Kurdish? This is truly tragic and difficult to believe, but since unbelievable things happen when people under stress are armed, I have to believe it. I hope it gets resolved quickly to everyone's satisfaction. Everyone I know in the military still believes that Turkish soldiers are some of the bravest and most trustworthy allies on earth. That is what is so unbelievable about it. . .

>>>You said "deviated" - does that mean that there are significant differences between the Turkish version of the story, and the version in CNN?
>>
>>Yes. It doesn't for example say US troops were backed up by Kurdish ppl armed by US. Attacked to building with gas, officers were tortured etc
