There are many ways to send SMS messages from VFP. This is achieved generally by sending a mail message to something like phonenumber@sms.phonecompany.com etc... The problem is that every company uses a different naming convention, as well as different strategies as for receiving sms messages. The solution is to look for a company that does all the distribution for you: i.e you will always send the sms message to the same company, wich will then send it to the final recipient, no matter what the phone company.
In Israel, i use ITouch, wich works worldwide and is quite cheap ( 40$ a month for 2000 messages ), you should check what companies are in Australia that do that.
