As it stands now, the majority of VFP developers using .NET are choosing C# over VB .NET. Although the main difference between the languages is syntax, I think many VFP developers are tired of having to apologize for using VFP and, unfortunately, the view that VB is "just a toy" still carries over into the VB .NET world. In contrast, developers using C# don't have to deal with respect issues...C# is the primary language used internally at Microsoft for writing managed code, and the vast majority of third-party components and tools are also written in C#. What's nice, is you get the respect, and it's just as easy to learn C# as it is to learn VB .NET.

That said, VB .NET is still a good choice for developers with VB experience. The VB .NET team's main focus is RAD. The C# teams' main focus is advanced object-oriented features and performance (although they are still interested in RAD too).
