Thanks again for your help. I have not utilized everything in your script, but was fortunate to see the smallest part of your code that actually produced the results I was looking for. The code "use" closed the table, so after I did the "select into table" command, I issued the "use" command and I have not run into the same problem since. It's funny - I new about this command to close the table, but I thought that issuing the "use" command would close all open tables. I am not sure why it doesn't do that for my application, but maybe it is because all tables that get openned in my main program are openned "in 0" and therefore are not closed by the "use" command.

Your help with the SQL statements I am sure will be helpful at a later time, but for now I have taken your advice about doing all the language in Foxpro and then merging the final result into Word. Therefore, there is no need for the second SQL statement, as the first one is simply "select * from ...". Not even close to 255 characters.

Thanks again.

Paul
