When I tried the append code,
*******************************************
use table1
use table2
append from table1

example: append from table1 for Field = <>
************************************************

it works great for the general fields, but it does not seem to copy only the memo fields corresponding to the selected records, it does all of them for the whole table!! I tried PACK MEMO from the original table to make sure that I got rid of the extras, but that does not solve the problem.

Have you encountered this, or do you have any ideas of how to fix it?

Can you elaborate more what's your problem about? I cannot point out what is your real problem?
