Thanks, but I'm using CREATEOBJECT because I get the error that the object is invalid for the container type. I get this error when the object I'm trying to add to my (container-based) app object is based on a toolbar or a container. Mostly, it hasn't been a problem. I'm where I am with this because of an underlying bad design choice, so...Alas! I guess I'm stuck with a kludge.
Do you know if my guess is close about why you can't refer to the parent of an object made via CREATE vs ADDOBJECT?
