When on grid problem is not particular to these activex but all activexes. They create their own windows and visual behaviour is not consistent.
If you wouldn't do editing in grid (show date/datetime/time in grid but do editing outside grid) then no problem. As soon as you change the value in activex, corresponding grid row shows the change (even if you dropped the calendar and moving between dates, grid -or field on form- follows the navigation)
