I am not at home, but still ... do not remember seeing a project.err file. Whenever I copy from CD the files are always readonly. That is why I have a little bat file to change the attributes. Is there a way not to have the files on a CD marked as readonly? Something does come to mind, I downloaded a small peice of software that changes the file attributes in subfolders because I got tired of forgetting to add new subfolders to my bat file. Wonder if it caused a problem with my files? Also, when I installed SP5, I had to run it several times because it said that many of the VFP files were in use (of course VFP was not running and I even restarted my PC). But after the third or fourth time, it ran without error.

>>Running VFP 6, SP5 and Win98. I have always worked on the same three stable and old VFP applications. Recently one of these applications was copied to serve as a base for a new application. This new application has been cut, torn, copied, moved, etc. Well .... the project manager of this new application is giving me fits. Everytime it is opened it gives a 'file access is denied', then 'memo field is missing', then something about network status and rights. After trying five or six times it always opens, but this is a pain. I go through the same routine whenever I try to rebuild the project or open certain files within the project it gives me 'file access is denied'. I run a little bat file to change all file attributes to not read-only (copy a lot from a CD to and from work), have checked the files in each subfolder manually and nothing is read-only, and have deleted the foxuser. I always get it opened and get it recompiled, but it takes 6 or seven tries and closing and reopening VFP.
