Here is what I Did.
Set up system odbc drive for vfp, free tables pointing to correct dir.

SET LIBRARY TO FPSQL ADDITIVE
nhandle=dbconnect('odbcname','','','')
sqlconn="SELECT * FROM dbfname"
ck=dbexec(nhandle,"&sqlconn","yourcursorname")
