I had ruled out AV due to only 2 specific Acers being affected, and occurring over an extended period. Especially if some of the problem files are very teeny, an AV problem would be strange, wouldn't it? Never seen that sort of thing except on very large files, anyway.

Then again, maybe the AV is not configured right on the Acers or something, that's another thought...
