>Not sure where it originated from, but it's been used since I've worked with Fox in the early 80's to mean a small section of code or a 'code snippet.' I think the term itself (outside of programming) means: a small piece of anything including a piece of something that has been snipped off or cut out.

I used to wonder if inspiration for the term came out of Henson's "moppets" somehow...not quite sure how they're related, though...except for the "cutesy" sort of name, maybe.

Or was that "muppets"? Been a while now...
