So I see...Webster's II has for snippet 1) "tidbit," and 2) "a small mischievous person" (this is a little like "muppets," maybe).
I don't think I'd heard the term before I began using the Fox, though it's hard to be sure.
The next Webster's def is interesting too: Snippety 2) = "Snippy" :-)
