I have an application where I want to suppress AutoRun when the user inserts a CD. I've looked at the M$ page at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/shellcc/platform/shell/programmersguide/shell_basics/shell_basics_extending/autorun/autoplay_reg.asp
which shows how to do it in C but that's out of my league.

I took a look at modifying the registry settings but that requires a reboot to recognize the modified settings and (tongue in cheek) would disrupt the workflow.

I downloaded MessageCatcher ActiveX but all it does is catch messages with no methods for posting a message. I guess you could say it'd be good if I were a C programmer but that's been way too many years ago.

At this point I'm ready to (a) have the instructions written up telling the user to first hold down the shift key then insert the CD or (b) throw in the towel. If I can't find an answer the towel gets it.

Thanks,

Scott
