I am VFP [8.0] newcomer. I need to re-implement a Search pop-up (form) with more dynamic functionality. Ability to pass multiple fields; click or dbl-click on column header to both sort that field/col in Search grid, and make that the look-up field in adjoining textbox in form, etc.

You may want to check out 1001 Things You Wanted to Know About Visual FoxPro. In Chapter 11 we have a searchable form class and a re-usable pop-up search form that should be enough to help you get started.

The ability to find a specific record based on some sort of search criterion is a very common requirement. We have created a generic 'pop-up' form (Srch.scx) which can be used to search for a match on any field in a given table. You just need to be sure that any form that calls it, does so with the following parameters in the order in which they are listed.
