Yep, that's the normal grid/editbox behavior. I spent hours trying to make a perfect wrokaround back around vfp5, and finally gave it up as hopeless. Maybe newer vfp versions allow for a better workaround, but here's what I do for all grid editboxes:

A user single-clicks on any grid editbox, and they get a popup modal form with a larger, better-behaving editbox. I use a generic editbox-form with about 6 parameters (readonly or not, a form title, some report info, etc.), to cover all possible editbox situations. It includes a print button as well. The users love this technique, anyway, and that's the main thing.
