I don't know if you have been following this tread, Victor and I have been talking about solutions and he suggested ?Bell(cFile). as i read this i remembered something like that, but couldn't recall the exact syntax.

He also talked about windows media encoder sdk, which i am temped to try and learn, so i have a more 'fancy' solution for later projects.
