Well white is the colour around the main button and GDI+ and VFP8 respects THAT! So why not other parts of the same GIF. Changing it to a BMP and JPG did not change this strange behaviour. The central part of the button still showed up as opaque white, while the surrounding part of the button was made transparent. How come?

>Actually, the VFP7 behavior may have been the bug. Is white marked as the transparent color in the GIF? If not, try setting white to be transparent, and see if VFP8/GDI+ respects that.
